Who We Are
FIRST® Team 1374 is a newly made (2016) high school robotics team, located in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, at Oakville Trafalgar High School. The team is comprised of different sub teams such as Build, Design, Programming, and Business. We are a close community of students, where those interested in science, technology, media and business can build intellect and confidence by developing skills such as teamwork and leadership.
What We Do
Each year, we spend six weeks designing, building, and programming a robot to compete in the FIRST® Robotics Competition. We also participate in many outreach events to promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art through creativity and Math) in our community.
How Is This All Possible?
Our team is mainly funded by a combination of companies and private investors, and is run by student leaders and volunteer mentors. We would like to give a big thank you to all our sponsors and mentors! None of this would be possible without their continuous support!
Our Philosophy
Our team’s philosophy is based on the idea that robotics is, despite the stereotype, not all about the robot. We focus on having a welcoming and positive team environment, and on incorporating all the different interests and skill-sets of our members into making our team the best that it can be. Robotics is for everyone, whether you are interested in 3D design, writing code, creating videos or posters, working in a manufacturing shop, or any of the other various interests or passions our team harbors, you have a place on our team!
